BBC iPlayer takes a long time to load, and when it does get there, there is a lot of 'buffering' and freezing. This goes on for a while, and the the programme stops altogether. The only solution I have found so far is to shut down my TiVo box altogether and then re-boot it. Any suggestions?

The TiVo is now double-digit years old, which by current standards is elderly - and it never was brilliant at handling streaming apps. In technical terms you are probably describing the in-built modem failing and this causing a loss of internet connection - check the front-right of your TiVo for a flashing heartbeat light when the problems happen, for proof of this.
Reporting your TiVo faulty should result in a tech visit and replacement with a V6. Runs the same TiVo-software but on a much newer and more capable box, providing you have VM home broadband.

Hi there @Gunfighter 👋 Welcome back to the forum and thanks for your post 😊
Sorry to see that you're having issues with BBC iPlayer on your TiVo. As @japitts has advised these boxes are quite a number of years old now and some apps like the iPlayer don't function as well as they may have.
As this is the case we're certainly happy to check if we can offer you a box upgrade to help with this issue. I'll send you a PM to confirm your details so this can be done.
Regards
Nathan
