iPlayer stopped working

I'm having the same issue with error code 02050. I had a v6 box ut in on 24th Dec and can't get any programmes to play in iplayer. It's not my Internet as I can load and play ghe iplayer from my samsung tv apps and I have tried deleting and rejoining iplayer

  • Power off the V6, wait a little while and power it back on. If the problem is still there wait a few days whilst keeping the V6 connected to the hub. Actually it's a good idea to have the hub on 24/7.

    None of VM's TV boxes have the facility to delete or reinstall apps, so I presume that reference is to the sign-in.

    Forget your Samsung TV for these tests, it's immaterial. Can your V6 play other OnDemand programmes or use other apps? Try loading them from Home > Apps > All apps

    Find a programme from Sky, UK-TV (branded as "U") or C5 - deliberately chosen because they don't use apps - in the menu system, and choose the "watch from OnDemand" option. Does this play OK? That's the best test of your V6's internet connection.

    Equally, test loading a BBC programme either directly via the menu system/EPG and also Home > OnDemand > CatchUp > BBC iPlayer, and then search within the app directly. Any difference?

      Sorry yes I meant i had deleted my log in and then signed in again. I can play non bbc programmes without any issue but followed your instructions for iplayer and always get the 02050 error

      Will try that and report back, it's on 24/7 at the moment but will try - thanks for trying to help

    Glad to hear it's working, the old-fashioned reboot solves a lot of problems.
