More expensive to have Broadband/Phone package than TV360/Broadband/Phone package

So I've just spent a disappointing 30 minutes or so on web chat to customer services. My contract for TV360/Broadband/Phone is due to expire 19 June and wanted a new package of Broadband/Weekend Phone with Virgin Media Stream only as want to go cordless. I know you have to cancel contract with 30 days notice etc and start up new one with interruption of few days to move over to Stream.

But it actually cost £20 more to sign up for new Broadband/Phone/Stream package compared to  TV360/Broadband/Phone package (cannot upgrade to stream). I was offered £62 for the former and £42.75 for the latter.

This is totally bonkers that a package without TV360 box costs more than one with it. Very unhappy customer.

VM have long operated a multi-bundle discounting setup, where the more services you have, the lower the per-unit price. Conversely, the fewer services you have, the higher the per-unit cost.

It's long been the case that landline telephony often attracts generous discounts which make a landline cheaper to have than not-have, it's not unusual for an O2 mobile to be similarly priced.

That this can now extend to the TV service, is no huge surprise. TV360 is a more fully-featured TV service than Stream.
