Upload speeds - No real increase

Following the increase in the upload speeds, my line went from 52mb upload and now I get around 70mb.  I believe the speeds were increased to 104mb upload ?   This is testing via a wired connection directly to the Home Hub ( v4 )

Reading some other posts on the forum it appears some people had their issues resolved by having some additional channels allocated to their upload side of their connection.

It's because you don't have a DOCSIS 3.1 upstream channel.

Some areas may still be in the process of being upgraded.

Thanks.

I believe its a channel issue in general though.   Just 4 upstream channels doesn't look correct to me.    Looking at stats on other lines ( friends / work ) they appear to have 6 - thats normally 5 on 3.0 and 1 on 3.1 or 6 on 3.0.......

Are you on HFC or RFoG?

I'm on RFoG and have had the same situation as you for 6 months now. The 30-50 call centre, WhatsApp support, forums support, "engineers" and "network engineers" at VM that I have dealt with in the past 6 months have absolutely no understanding that I need more US channels to hit 104mbps. Not one of them is able to understand the concept. It's utterly hopeless and I have made 0% progress in 6 months. Getting customer support from them is like blood from a stone.

Looks like someone pushed the switch on your node without doing the required infrastructure upgrade first, you have no 3.1 upstream channel and only 4 3.0 channels.  The missing 3.1 is the big issue there.

Thank you for noting this chroluk, we will look into this for them.

New around here?

thanks Matt - would be great to see why im not really benefiting from the increased upload speeds as it does report 104mb on my package on my account online for the upload side of the line.

Virgin wont fix this as they are useless.. My upload has been about 70mbs on average too and they don't care...
