Has anyone else tried automatically scheduled speed tests?
I used testmy.net set for 5 mins and after a few tests it dropped to 5mbps
Tried with a powershell script for Ookla cli, same thing.
Changed interval to 10.5 mins for Ookla and it worked.
I'd like to know if Virgin are blocking tests, that's what it look like.

I never had any issues running speed tests. Not that I run them that often as I don't see the need. I do keep an eye on my BQM every day though.

Why do you want to do a speed test every five minutes?

Only over a short period, probably 24 hours, to check for dropouts. trying to isolate whether internet issues are Virgin or the switch or the WAP.

What the point in running a wasted use of bandwidth that could be used for good use? It is a fact speed test servers will never be able to test everyone speed all the time if everyone did this and VM network or any network can't deal with that thing.

I tried several times within 5 minutes and no drop:

And? use BQM, like I was upgrading my linux mint to 21.3 the other day and it was like dial up VM was not to blame not that I mind waiting for it to update but that just shows real use bandwidth we are all still limited even if VM are not to blame

I was doing it once every 5 mins and it didn't drop the speed until half an hour or so. I appreciate you testing though, thanks.
