Hi, Everyone
I Have joined VM in summer 2024. I had a engineer visit a week or so ago due to constant slow speed actually VM emailed me saying something isn't right and they would require an engineer to come, he did mention the cable outside has been slightly damage and nothing much more in depth but he did manage to "tidy up". However since the past few days constantly around 7-9pm there is that random lag long lieutenancy when doing speed test and hardy going up to 30-40 mbps , during the day it is a stable good 130mpbs speed. It's a HUB 3 btw.
Any ideas what to do its annoying it bugs out even when you try watching Netflix during that period

Firstly... Can we check… are your 7pm issues only evident on wifi connections or do you see them at the same times on devices connected on ethernet cables? If you don't know, can you check on one to help diagnose whether it is just a wifi issue or it could be network connection/Hub related?

Hey, thanks for the reply... don't have the chance of checking with Ethernet cable as I'm mainly using MacBook..
I know it doesn't really answer the question but the 7pm issue is seen/felt through different devices of slow speed/random drops

I am all Mac's - many dont have ethernet ports - so I use "adapters" that go into their USB ports - so I can connect ethernet that way - when I want that. These are quite cheap at the usual places - get one for your "bits" drawer.
If its wifi only it could be for many reasons - our wifi goes down when the Panasonic Microwave oven is switched on in the kitchen! There are many other reasons .. one of my favourites on here was another one dropping at the same time every early evening. When it was eventually tracked down is was a direct consequence of the street light outside their house switching on !
If it is network related and not just wifi - it will show on a BQM.

If you haven’t already, set up a free, secure and “offlsite” - “Broadband Quality Monitor” to continually monitor the state of your connection and record any true network dropouts , latency issues, packet drops, etc - it will thus allow you to differentiate between those and simple wifi dropouts. It does it 24/7/365 and it keeps a visual record of any/all of your network disconnections, useful data to have to match to the Network logs (in your Hub settings) and also in discussions with VM - note it will take a few hours to start seeing a sensible picture - post up the “link” to the “share live graph”. Click the lower link (Share Live Graph) then, click generate. Copy the text in the Direct Link box, beware, there may be more text than you can see. On here click the Link icon (2 links chain to the left of the camera icon) In the URL box paste the link you copied and then click OK

I have read other posts regarding similar stuff on the community forms so I already got BQM and there was some interesting results.. seems like around 3 am on Saturday there was a complete drop out but ever since then it seems to be okay.. there was never any upcoming engineering works
yesterday
VM often do network fixes in the wee hours often without notification. Usually one-offs - so are there any identical drop off's on other nights - at that time - evident on the BQM ?
I have just checked now and there isn't any drop outs completely since the only one I had on Saturday morning.. except this morning around 6am there was a big latency lag according to BQM
