One GIG internet getting intermittent useless speeds

Since EE and BT have offered 1 gig internet to my post code my speeds are intermittently very poor but occur daily. Is this related. Please sort out. However I will also move to BT unless Virgin matches the price. Virgin I felt were being vindictive when I cancelled TV and phone

Hi rollocks,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

We're sorry to hear you've been having an issue with your speeds lately. Checking things here, our diagnostics on your home network and Hub have not found any issues that could account for speed issues. All power and signal levels are optimal, I'm not seeing any errors and there are no open faults in your area either.

As you're running in modem mode, can you please try re-running the speedtest connecting the Hub directly to the Laptop or PC? This will allow us to rule out a third party router issue. Make sure you turn the Hub off, disconnect the router and connect to the PC or Laptop before turning the hub back on.

You'll also need to ensure the network card on the PC or Laptop is 1GB and that the ethernet cable is cat 6 minimum. Pop back here with your results.

In terms of the price, we're always happy to review things however we don't offer a match service. The best offers are available when in the last 30 days of your minimum term and you can check these out via My VM here

Thanks,

Thanks. Take it from me the speeds were great until BT and EE came along. It also now cuts out about 20 times a day for a couple of minutes then stats up again Very annoying

As for price match. I'm a bit tied up at present but if no price match I'm off

Hi rollocks,

Thanks for coming back to us on this one.

Did you manage to complete the speed test via a wired connection? What were the results?

In terms of the disconnections, are these happening on the WiFi or through an ethernet cable too?

Pop back and let us know so we can help further.

Thanks,
