Download speeds

My download speed has dropped significantly to 80mbs, I should be getting something near 500mbs for the package I pay:

Restarted my router last night and its still the same issue.

This is a laptop with a USB ethernet port plugged directly into the router via 1000mbs cable. Tbh the difference between wired and wireless is negligible, wired improves it by 10mbs down but does not change upload speeds.

Is the interface in windows showing 1Gb link?

The performance looks like a network link that has established at (or regressed to) 100Mb/s
it should be possible to see the network connect speeds on the VM Hub and your laptop.

That's a good point, the adapter is only 100mbs so is a bottleneck. I tried a different way, I have a wireless mesh which has its own app with a speed test. This shows speeds much closer to the advertised rate so all looks good.

We have the above HP 1Gb/s to USB 3 adaptor for a slimline HP laptop that lacks space for a network socket,
with an OTG cable it also works on our Samsung mobiles.   There are plenty of choices.
