Logon to "My Virgin Media", tab at top of this board. You can check there what your plan is.

It's the first time I have seen a "too fast" complaint on here but it may well be faster than your needs. VM does still do a M50 speed but only really mentions it for its low income Essentials deals. Tbh I think you would be better off looking at cheap deals from copper /FTTC providers via a comparison site like Uswitch. Watch out for early disconnection fees with VM though.

Its been 50 or so for years but its only since I have changed my PC today that Im getting speeds of 276 using a wi fi connectiuon. It looks the speed has been high for a while but it was limited by the old PC, I wondered why my phone was very fast

It looks like I have wasted £280 buying a new PC as its not my PC being slow but my phone being able to use the higher speed

Virgin did not tell me when they changed my phone over and now they dont tell me of a speed increase which hopefully im not paying for

Hi edam,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

When it comes to speed increases, we have in past offered speed boosts for free and we've also now got Volt so if you have an O2 SIM then this would have boosted you up to the next tier for free.

We can certainly take a look at this for you and complete a package review to ensure you are getting the most out of your services for the lowest possible price but in order to do that I will need to confirm some information with you to pass security.

I have sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. If you are using a PC/Laptop then you can just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. If you are on a mobile/tablet device then instead click on the little circle icon in the top right then select 'Messages'. 😊

Thanks,

I expect the speed is that of the network - which has nothing to do with the broadband speed.

I have been using the Samknows speed test and have found something interesting.

I get a Router speed of 274 but get a Device speed of only 56.which points to being a problem with my PC

BUT

If I reboot the Hub 3 I then get a Device speed of 181

Strange

Hi edam

Is it just your PC that seems to be experiencing the speed issue?

Roughly, how long do the speeds of over 100mbs last before they drop back to 56? Is your PC wired or wireless?
