Hi Virgin Media,

I am unable to block specific websites in the Online Security section of my account.

When i add URLs to the section "Add websites that you always want parental controls to block access to" and click on the save button i get the below message:

"Sorry the changes you made were not saved, please try again

Can someone at virgin please review and fix it?

I'm also suffering this issue as many others have if searching this forum e.g.

Previously, somebody at VM had to help me block/unblock websites me which isn't a sustainable solution.  The page clearly has a bug which prevents you from managing this yourself.  More recently, I was able to use an old URL to block/unblock websites as suggsted by others under other posts.  However, that is no longer working for me either (https://my.virginmedia.com/my-apps/onlinesecurity/websafe/settings)

Need VM to provide a solution to this, which enables users to manage it themselves without help from Customer Services each time.

I have managed to fix the issue by calling virgin media directly and having them add the website to the block list. I will leave this open as ideally customers should be able to do this themselves.

Thanks for reaching out to us @VGB9000, and welcome back to our Community Forums!

Sorry to hear of the issues you've been experiencing when attempting to block certain websites.

Please either try clearing cache on the browser you're using, or attempt to use a different browser to see if the attempted action is then successful.

I also understand that you have recently been in contact with one of my colleagues in relation to web safe not functioning as expected, is this issue now resolved for you, or is the manual attempt to add specific websites the work around you're attempting?

Thanks,

David_Bn

Hi Ayisha_B,

Is there a way for me to add websites to the block list manually? Or does this still require assistance from a virgin media rep?

Thanks,

Might be faster to run your own bind and block list or the like

The platform allows me to block websites but now the websites that are saved on the block list are accessible.😣

Thanks for the update @VGB9000, can you please confirm if the attempted blocked websites are still accessible, or if they continue to be available?

It may be worth trying to clear the cache on your browser and then seeing if they are accessible.

If this they, please try re-adding the websites to the block list

Thanks,
