This morning when trying to access various websites I arrive at a Virgin Media splash screen telling me that my parental controls are ON and they need to be turned off to be able to access the website. When I login to My Virgin Media and I try to toggle the parental controls they cannot be toggled at all (on or off), it comes up with the error "Sorry the changes you made were not saved, please try again". No matter which browser I use or device I use (tested on desktop PC, laptop, mobile phone) I cannot change the setting. According to My Virgin Media account settings when I login the setting is currently disabled, it is extremely confusing as to why sites are now being blocked. For reference I am not a new customer, have been a customer for years and I have never enabled parental controls. This issue only arose in the past day or two.
Called VM customer support many times this morning and got nowhere, was told by them that they tried to enable/disable on their side and too were getting an error. Deeply disappointing that a service I am paying for is low limited outside of my control (and also Virgin's for some bizarre reason). Appealing for help in any way/shape or form.

The VM restriction uses their own DNS. Change the DNS on your device to a different one, like Google or OpenDNS

Thanks, but this is not solving the root issue that VM has an issue with enabling/disabling these controls and for some customers they have been enabled against their will.

It be worse if all DNS are forwarded to VM DNS...which the hub 5 has that option so I'm read.😮

Hey JAcheson, thank you for reaching out and I am so sorry to hear about this.
The next stop would be to raise an IT ticket, let me send you a DM and we can take a look at doing this.

Raise an IT Ticket that reads :
More than two years of continuous customer complaints about the Parental Control Portal not working reliably
and many dozens of reports of Child Safe randomly enabling + disabling.

Did they eventually fix this for you?. I’ve been having this problem for over two months now.
