Hi there, I've just received the attached below email, it's very suspicious as I'm not trying to buy a service from VM but I'm really surprised how legit the email looks.
Online order reference:
Hi there,
We've had a look at your details and we can connect your home to our Virgin Media services.
During the credit check we came across an outstanding balance in your name - so before we can go any further, we'll need the amount to be paid off in full.
But no need to worry, we can have this resolved in a flash. The quickest and easiest way to do this is to give our guys a ring on 0800 052 7588 and make sure you have a credit or debit card at hand and we'll have this payment processed and cleared in no time.
Any pre-payment that you have made online will not be processed until your install date has been confirmed.
Once your account is up to date, we can get on with installing your services and settling your pre-payment.
Kind regards,
The Virgin Media team
The number stated doesn't seem to be connected to VM, but wanted to confirm first.
Thanks

I think it's legitimate as the number checks out and the language used is typical of the faux familiarity of Virgin Media’s house style (albeit gloriously undermined by the blunt email address labelling you a "Web risk decline") https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Security-matters/Valid-email-address-lt-webteam-virginmedia-co-...

Hi JeiCa,
Thanks for posting, and sorry for any confusion caused by this email.
This doesn't look legitimate, it's not an email address that's recognised. So I can get a few more details from you, I've popped you over a private message.
