When will pre installation happen? Date always today's date?

Hi.

I ordered on Monday with an internal installation appointment for 16th September 1 till 6pm.

My property has never had nexfibre / virgin before so understand I need a pre installation for the external work.

My question is, when will this happen? The date for the preinstall always shows the current date. I ordered on the second, not the sixth. Just worried my order may be stuck or something.

This is the way they work. They will do it when they get round to it and you will just get the usual run-around until then. Don't cancel your existing service until this one is installed and actually working.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Thanks.

Thankfully I won't be cancelling the other service but I'll be keeping an eye on things to see how their provisioning goes compared to my employer (the ISP I'm already with but can't give me fibre).

Still no sign of any pre install work. I guess they could turn up anytime between now and Friday. I doubt they'd be out on a Saturday. I hope it goes to plan as I booked Monday afternoon off work to ensure I'm free for my internal engineer.

Keep an offline record of that original installation date of 16 Sept. If it all goes pear-shaped, you will find that the pre-install date keeps closing in on the technician date and then all dates may disappear altogether in the online records.

If you work for an ISP you will probably be aware that any compensation due for a delayed installation is based on the 'date initially confirmed in writing' which is your 16 Sept date.

Well the answer is pre install is happening now! Apparently I'm the first order on my estate.
