Virgin engineer wouldn’t drill through wall

Hi everyone.

I’ve recently moved into a new property and had decided to go for virgin media broadband. As a gamer, musician & content creator I needed something good and VM’s 1gb promise was the best I could get. So anyway, VM text me a few weeks before we moved asking some questions about the outside of the property, followed by a text a few days later saying “all external work had been completed”

but when the engineer came, he took a look round the flat (top floor) and said that he was looking for a cupboard or something to drill through the wall. And then said that he couldn’t install the socket we needed because there was no access through a wall to the outside of the building (even though there is?) does anyone know why this might be? We already have BT in the building so it’s not impossible clearly. But BTs 60mbps is nothing compared to VMs promised speed.

Hi @Preyforplagues9,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm very sorry to hear that there's been some complications with an installation you had booked. Has this since been rescheduled to a later date to complete the additional work, or have you cancelled the order?

Thanks,
