I live in a 2nd floor flat(at the back of the building, so there is a flat in between mine and the street where the Virgin lines would come from) and previously had Virgin installers come and say its too difficult to install and sheepishly said they would need the housing associations permission and that it 'its not worth it for what it is'. If I am persistent and also get my housing associations permission, would it be possible to get Virgin?
The problem I have is the only provider that I can currently get has to be one that uses Openreach, and my Openreach has latency issues which they can never find any problems when testing speeds etc. So I basically can't get broadband from anyone at the moment. So it's immensely frustrating being a gamer and wanting to play online games. Help please! Thanks

Virginmedia won't install outside cables above the first floor, so it would have to be run inside the building. Unless there are existing cable trunks, that isn't going to happen.
You should also read the gaming section of this forum, which is full of complaints about excessive latency making games unplayable.

See whether you can get a good 4G or 5G wifi connection on the 4 phone networks site checkers
Unlimited data SIMS can be had for £20 on a monthly contract - look at Three, Smarty, GiffGaff, etc.
Then select the best for you and try it for a month - use their routers or get your own.
