a Virgin employee has responded on there criticising customers, saying that the customers have “failed”.

Interesting thread on Reddit. I have no idea if the users posting on it who say they are VMO2 staff really are but if so they are simply asking VM customers to be civil and polite. Seems fair enough to me.

To be fair, that's only one person (if indeed they are a Virgin employee as they claim). If they're a call handler in the call centre right now, I can imagine that their life must be pretty awful!

I've posted on the Reddit thread too, seems like it's only a matter of time before the media get hold of this and start asking questions and posting stories about it.
