Hello,
I wonder if someone would be kind enough to offer me some helpful advice and feedback.
I have been with Virgin Media for 19 years. I just have a broadband package with them, no landline and no television. Presently I have a super hub 2ac which I have had for nine years. The Hub is set to router mode and wireless functionality is completely disabled as I only have one device (my Desktop PC) connected to the internet via ethernet cable, So no wireless needed in the house at all.
I was recently automatically upgraded from M125 to M250 and I am getting 250 mb or more when checking with “Speed test” so my Super Hub 2ac is capable of handling the increased speed. I was perfectly happy with M125.
Now I am not sure if it is my router or YouTube itself but I have noticed a bit more buffering on videos in certain places as of late on YouTube, but I can't figure out whether it is my old super hub or not, might not be that at all in fairness.
My super hub 2ac has been a very reliable workhorse over the last nine years, no problems at all.
I was emailed by Virgin Media offering me to swap it for a new Hub 4 for free.
I am not sure whether to take them up on their offer?
I don't need this to get the increased speed as I am getting it already with my older hub.
I have heard mixed reviews of the Hub 4, some say there are a lot of overheating issues?
Again the wireless functionality would be disabled on this hub 4.
Any advice or recommendations is much appreciated, should I decline their kind offer and stick with my super hub 2ac? Or should I take them up on their offer and swap it for a hub 4?
Thanks very much I really appreciate your help.
Bob.

VM is, quite rightly, looking to stop supporting its three or four oldest hubs, so take the hub 4. It works better by introducing features of DOCSIS 3.1 and can support VoIP (landline still matters for some).
