Outdoor cable cut

Hello. I accidently cut the cable in the garden yesterday. It's a twin cable, with the smaller wire completely cut through and the larger wire partly cut through. Broadband still works fine, and I think the smaller wire is the old telephone line no longer in use. If I just wrap it in duct tape any idea if that would suffice? Or should I get it properly fixed? Thanks.

I'd suggest getting it fixed as you could introduce noise into your and neighbours lines.

It shouldn't cost anything since the line wasn't correctly buried.

Hi Monsoon17,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

Thank you for letting us know about the cable. We can certainly have this looked into.

I will private message you now to confirm your details.

All fixed. An engineer came out and fitted a new cable. Impressed with Virgin's service on this occasion.
