Hi Virgin Media,
I am a Virgin media customer and so is my neighbour.
We are currently building a driveway at our property and have discovered that our neighbour's cable runs across our land. This was clearly not installed correctly and is now causing a significant obstruction. The cable is extremely taut and penetrates our brick wall, which we plan to remove.
We are concerned about this for several reasons:
As we were unaware that the cable was under the soil, running through our land - this was accidentally cut, disrupting our neighbours service. As they are elderly and have no other means of communication, I have had to resolve this on their behalf. A Virgin Media engineer visited today Friday 15 November, 2024 - and resolved the connection issue, bringing them back in service. However, the engineer stated they did not have the "facilities" to install a new cable and displayed an unhelpful attitude, but nevertheless repaired the issue.
To ensure the safety and proper functioning of the service, we request that Virgin Media re-route the cable entirely onto my neighbour's property as soon as possible. We are aiming to complete our driveway in the next few weeks and need this resolved!
I have attached annotated images to illustrate the problem.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Thanks
Please note the below thread linked, is a similar case to my own, so I expect a speedy resolution!:

The tee access point on the pavement is not on the exact boundary of the two properties, so there are probably other services in the vicinity. As a result there is unlikely to be a quick fix, as it will need a construction team & a work permit to dig the pavement to access the neighbours property directly.

I'm happy enough for the cable to simply be re-ran onto the the neighbours property via that tee access through their own brick wall OR better yet a quicker fix being enough cabling provided to append to their cable to allow for some slack of their line for us to bury it during the building of our driveway, as we will be building a retaining wall.
It's giving me abit of a headache, as the neighbour had the nerve to say whilst I was discussing with the technician that arrived today, "This would never have been a problem if you didn't decide to do a driveway...". 50% of the homes on this road have their own personal driveway, I just have to grit my teeth and bare it.
As soon as I saw that the cable had been cut, I knew there would be an issue (but understandably I'd hate for my services to have been disrupted). But extremely poor workmanship by Virgin with the cabling architecture, an electrician would have their accreditation removed for such poor cabling.
So I really need this resolved by Virgin asap.

I have to give my sincere props to Virgin. Posted this late Friday evening.
Came out first thing Monday morning to resolve.
Neighbours wire all re-done across their property and everyone's happy. Thanks again for your help @John_GS
