Availability - Neighbours can get connected why can't I?
I live in Oakham and when I search my postcode one of the addresses on my road comes up and apparently can even get 2 gigabit, meanwhile my address doesn't show up and I get 40mbps on a different provider. What gives? Can I speak to someone to get connected? I work from home so having a stable, fast connection would be really helpful.Neighbour's Cable Runs Through My Property - Urgent Action Needed
Hi Virgin Media, I am a Virgin media customer and so is my neighbour. We are currently building a driveway at our property and have discovered that our neighbour's cable runs across our land. This was clearly not installed correctly and is now causing a significant obstruction. The cable is extremely taut and penetrates our brick wall, which we plan to remove. We are concerned about this for several reasons: Safety Hazard: The exposed and taut cable poses a tripping hazard and could be damaged during our construction work. Obstruction Delaying Building Work: The cable's current position is obstructing our driveway construction and preventing us from completing the project as scheduled. Responsibility: We do not want to be held responsible for any future issues with our neighbour's service due to the cable's current location. As we were unaware that the cable was under the soil, running through our land - this was accidentally cut, disrupting our neighbours service. As they are elderly and have no other means of communication, I have had to resolve this on their behalf. A Virgin Media engineer visited today Friday 15 November, 2024 - and resolved the connection issue, bringing them back in service. However, the engineer stated they did not have the "facilities" to install a new cable and displayed an unhelpful attitude, but nevertheless repaired the issue. To ensure the safety and proper functioning of the service, we request that Virgin Media re-route the cable entirely onto my neighbour's property as soon as possible. We are aiming to complete our driveway in the next few weeks and need this resolved! I have attached annotated images to illustrate the problem. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Thanks Please note the below thread linked, is a similar case to my own, so I expect a speedy resolution!: https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/I-m-not-a-customer-but-I-have-neighbors-exposed-and-unprotected/td-p/5366714/1.6KViews0likes5CommentsVirgin incorrectly installed box on my property
A couple of days ago my neighbour had a virgin box installed. The issue is after the engineers left she came round to my house to apologise that they had installed it on my property instead (terraced house). She was not there for the installation and upon returning home discovered it was instead put on my wall. I have a very large storage box out the front of my property which clearly identifies it as mine as it separates the gap between our houses, but the engineers have moved this to install the box. I have called virgin to complain and insist that this is removed immediately, to which I've been informed an engineer will be in touch with my neighbour as soon as they can to remove it. Although I doubt the speed and urgency they will take with this, I have more concern about the damage done ILLEGALLY to my property. Looking through the forum it seems this isn't an isolated event. I am expecting the box removed, and the damage repaired so that my property is returned back to the state it was on prior. This means more than just filling the holes, and will most likely require a larger piece of work to ensure the wall is uniform and not left with a glaring patch covering their illegal damage. Depending on how quickly they can resolve this, I may seek further compensation for the stress and time it's taken for me to resolve this. Does anyone have any experience of this and resolutions?Solved2.5KViews0likes14CommentsWayleave
Hi, we are in need of a wayleave agreement with two neighbours. they require digging of the cables but we are having difficulty establishing where this will be. As in agreement with my neighbour they do not want to sign the wayleave without knowing the detailed digging route plan. Why is it so hard for anyone to provide this information. As if the agreement is refused then can virgin not come up with an agreed route which does not require digging under my neighbours grass and just down the sides? has any one had any luck contacting anyone from virgin media or wayleave team as I seem to be going round in circles and they want to send someone out again in two weeks time when that just delays the installation even further (already at 4weeks since ordering) why can’t someone just talk to me on the phone to clarify this information.773Views0likes2Comments
