Intermittent Broadband

gryphon2
On our wavelength

For the past few days there has been an issue with the signal in my area (EH7), starting with several outages on Wednesday (6th Nov). The Service Status page says there is an issue but just keeps saying to "check back after x hours", where x has been 15, 9, and now 23. Surely someting should be known by now as to whether this requires an engineer or not.

Try the “free & automated” Service Status number - 0800 561 0061 - which usually gives the most up to date info. and tells you of more local issues and fix estimates, down to street cab/ postcode level.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & TNT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi), Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Thanks for that - didn't know of the existence of that number. On dialling that it says there are no issues but the main service staus page still says there are Hopefully the phone service is the more accurate

It usually is more relevant  - because VM areas are not Geographic they are "legacy billing" areas - and as such it covers faults affecting 1000’s of customers anywhere across the country.  So for example -  there may still be a problem in London when there is nothing in Manchester.
