Trying to work out, what are the connectors on the hub 5x and the NextFibre wall plate? Are they both single mode SC connectors?

Just look at some pictures on a network supplier’s site.

LC/APC SingleMode fiber.

If you plan on having the service installed and using your own router its currently not possible, neither is modem mode on the 5X if you have Gig2. The modem takes the SC/APC connector directly into the back with no SFP module.

It IS possible to get it to work with a third-party specialist SFP called a 'WAS-110 XGSPON ONU SFP+' module and there are some guides online, but Virgin won't offer you any support and try it at your own risk. I wont link the guide on here but you can find them online with the info i mentioned above.

The XGSPON network is still a trial, its far from perfect and many people like me are still having teething issues with their connections.

Hope some of that helped.
