Hey all.
Virgin laid down the fibre optics on my road in March of this year, and we got some info through the door about it at a later date. I signed up to be notified and in August I got an email from Virgin saying, "Virgin Media is nearly ready! In a few weeks time, you'll be able to get your hands on lightning fast broadband and amazing TV."
12 weeks later, there's still no availability. The website simply says we are coming to your area, sign up to be notified when it's ready.
Does anyone know how much longer I'll be waiting?

Hi STAstro,
Thank you for your post. I'm very sorry to hear about that.
To confirm, are you referring to when you last spoke with another moderator?

Hi Martin
No I am refering to the last time I spoke to the VM02 Liason Officer for the area. It would be good to get an update from VM02 in general as to the state of play on installation in the Haywards Heath area, it was supposed to be completed by Q1 of this year, and as you can see Q1 has been and gone a long time ago and no cables have been installed in my locality of Haywards Heath.

Have you gone live yet?

Nope, still no cables laid either, and no sign of any installation work around the area whatsoever

Quick follow-up on my services. It took a while to get set up, there was an unexplained 1 month delay to my initial installation date but it's all sorted now.
I signed up for Gig1. Got a new member deal as part of the network expansion program. £35.99 a month for Gig1 and a 10GB O2 sim card. Real speed screenshot below,
Need to try and improve router to PC speed now. Using a new 1metre Cat6 cable but I think maybe a new network card would be helpful. I'm getting around 550Mbps on my phone over wifi.

Not jealous at all @Oneonefour!!!!
Your PC to router speed could be a limitation of the "Hub" that is used on the router itself, as they are a "Hub" and not a "Switch". Most likely though the cause is that you're probably using a 1Gig network adapter in your PC which if it is one of the on-board ones, it will never get true 1gbps, they do not have the ASICs on them that enterprise class cards have

Got a swish fibre Mail Drop today to notify they are going to be starting installation soon. If Virgin doesn’t get their service online soon I’ll be signing up to swish.

Does not suprise me..
TW laid cables here in 1998 - ran the fibre down but to this day it's never been turned on - there is FTTP here so they might as well just let it rot - and thank for messing up our pavements for nothing!

I can show you a screenshot of my 10Gbps network both ways if you really want to be.... VM is playdoh by comparison of a REAL Fibre ISP!
