Availability Checker shows not available, compare sites show virgin available at postcode

All the comparison sites show my postcode as being supported by Virgin for broadband (Hybrid fibre - block of flats) - a few neighbours are definitely using Virgin broadband, but when I check on virgin site it shows broadband as not available at my address. I know I can't get full fibre here, but hybrid fibre (GFast) is available. Does virgin not support that?

No. Gfast is used by Openreach, not Virginmedia.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Why not use Gfast if it's available there?  It won't be as fast as VM but will give you a choice of suppliers.

If neighbours in the same block of flats have Virgin broadband, those neighbours or the landlord / management agent should be able to explain how to get connected.

Just be careful not to get stuck in an 18 month Virgin Media contract is that is longer than your tenancy agreement.  Early termination of VM for whatever reason means pay off the fees for the remainder of the contracted period.  A huge ouch if you move out in 5 or 6 months.

Not much choice, Sky only - Gfast has stopped being sold due to full fibre rollout.

Understood, but why do the comparison sites think Virgin can supply to my address. Are they not very accurate? Literally all of them say I can get virgin (hybrid fibre).
