Attic Wired Connection

Hi everyone,

I live in a three storey townhouse and I’m looking to get a wired connection in my attic bedroom, to allow me to record my podcast with a strong connection.

I have a Netgear Nighthawk router in my living room on the ground floor and the Virgin setup down there.

In our attic space, there’s an NTL coardial box on the wall as well as many plugs.

What’s the easiest and strongest connection method? Photo of the NTL box attached. There’s wires behind it and this room is only about 10 years old so I assume it’s live.

Thanks in advance!

You cannot have two VM connections unless you want to pay for two. The best way is to run an Ethernet cable from your present router to the attic. External cable can be easily run an hidden behind downpipes.

Thanks for reaching out to us @itsfoz, and a very warm welcome to our Community Forums.

It may be worth following the advice in this thread, or as an alternative, we could relocate the router already installed for you, for a flat fee of £25.00, but would need to advise this could result in an alternative level of service in other areas of the property due to the new set up

Thanks,
