I re-signed with Virginmedia SPECIFICALLY and ONLY because a Volt deal offered THREE free pods which I KNOW I need for my deadspot ridden house.
No mention was made at the time by the VM sales rep - even though I specifically said I need 3 pods - that they are issued one at a time, and only after torturous proof that my connection is very regularly slow (<30mbps) in many parts of the house.
So now I find that yes, they do really insist on sending one pod at a time.
Such terrible customer service. I've only been a customer for 20 years and still they had to lie

VM sales reps will promise you whatever you want to hear, but you'll only get what the system says you can have.
But welcome back!

If asked I'd always suggest buy your own network equipment. But with 35 years of technology delivery experience in the rear view mirror that might the right choice for us but for many others a turnkey solution is what they require and what VM and BT try to provide.
VM really do need to shape up with the supply and management of the VM Pods. If you advertise 3 Pods then have 3 pods in a box and supply them to the customer without question and sort out the activation process so the e-jits on the various support desks do know how to activate them and without being asked re-pair the Pods to a replacement VM Hub.
For us the locked down nature of the VM Pods and use of VM's Smart-Wi-Fi would never do, so we have a VM Hub + a pair or TP Link Wi-Fi Access Points and Powerline adaptors for cable connected printers, office laptops and Sky Q. This did not cost much especially compared to the connected kit it supports but a little knowledge or reading is needed to get it up an running. Oh almost forgot HP USB 3 to Gigabit network adaptors for the modern slim laptops that lacks a network socket, for £10 each these solve most of the gripes about MS Teams stutter over Wi-Fi.
What we do not use are VM Connect app ( its like ebola especially to a Hub 4 ), for stability we have disabled Smart Wi-Fi & Auto Wi-Fi channels. We hardly ever have to adjust the VM Hub and seldom power cycle it. Since the VM RFoG service started in 2017 we have never pressed Reset on a VM Hub.
