They will supply one up to 3m - after that you need a Tech visit who will custom make one of the desired length and then rebalance the power levels.  They usually charge £25 for that its a "no fault" callout.

Dont be tempted to buy one from online - no matter what the sell blurb claims these will not be authorised for use on the VM network and will cause you and your neighbours issues with "noise".

Another solution if you can leave it connected to the existing point -  would be to run some Cat6a ethernet cable from a Hub port to the distant location and connect devices up there through a wireless access point with 1GB ethernet ports.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

The longest pre-made cable VM supply is 3 metres. Any longer requires a technician visit. This is for 2 reasons:

1) VM uses specialised cable that is specifically designed for Cable Broadband & TV services. You cannot buy this anywhere else, & using non standard cabling can cause issues with the entire local network.

2) Changing the cable lengths affects your signal levels, which if they become unbalanced can affect your service performance.

A technician will make up the required cable on site, & adjust levels in the local cabinet to compensate for the changes. There is a standard cost of £25 for the service.

Thanks.

Hi @talcyh

Sorry to piggyback on your thread. I am also looking for a longer coax cable - 3m will do. Please can any VM members PM me as well?

Thanks.

Hi talcyh,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

This is something we can certainly arrange for you. Can you let us know if the 3m cable will be long enough or whether it's an engineer visit you require?

Thanks,
