Hub 5x modem mode workaround?

Tuning in

So I've been talking to virgin and I'm in the process of having a tech come out as my 1gig BB has been terrible meanwhile I've been wanting to get in to modem mode on the Hub 5x and while you can get to it via http://192.168.0.1/?page=modemmode it doesn't work, once you do this the ports are dead.

I have since been advised that as a workaround I can disable DHCP and WiFi and this will work the same as modem mode is this correct?

There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't and F people out of 10 who do not understand hexadecimal c1a2a285948293859940d9a49385a2

No it will not work as well as modem mode but you can double NAT

set your router WAN port with

IP 192.168.0.77

subnet 255.255.255.0

gateway 192.168.0.1

DNS 194.168.4.100 and 194.168.8.100

DMZ on hub to 192.168.0.77

No I didn't, just realised I have responses notifications aren't coming through until a day later and I've got 2 young kids running around so not on the ball 🤣
