How to order more pods

I am in new home. WiFi great downstairs but 2 floors up flakey.

called help people. Said I have an area network issue in Ealing . That does not explain why download speed is amazing but won’t work on top floor.

sounds like I may have been given wrong info and I am just being delayed in getting 2 more pods for each floor.

please can someone help me?

    Perhaps start by reading this:

    https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/UNDERSTANDING-KEY-ASPECTS-OF-WiFi/td-p/3870538

Then come back to us.  Basically you would need some method for extension of your broadband.   There are several options:

    1. Run an Ethernet cable from your router up to the 1st floor and attach a WiFi access point to propagate to both floors.
    2. Run Ethernet cables to both floors and stick an access point on each cable.
    3. Install a mesh WiFi system that relays signal from access point to access point
    4. Install Powerline Adaptors, which are a very effective method for WiFi signal propagation through the mains.  I do this and the lowest speed in my house that I get is 70 Mbps due to the nature of an electrical mains circuit.  The adaptor nearest the router gets c. 400 Mbps.
  • Hi Jaystation99,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our community forums. We're here to help.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having some trouble with the reach of the WiFi/wireless connection in the home. I've checked over things on our systems and I'm unable to detect any faults currently that would explain this.

You've mentioned that you already have a Pod set up. When did you receive this? Have you set it up in the most optimum spot? It would need to be placed midway between the router and a black spot that you've found via the Connect App for the best results.

    Thanks,

If you’ve looked at the sticky post I referenced, you’ll see that there is no “midway between the router and a black spot” except in a linear situation.   Devising a SiFi mesh is artistry!
