I'm on 1Gig internet which is advertised as 1130 Mbps. Problem is, I'm still on the old hub modem which only have a 1Gbps port, so i'm not getting the 130 Mbps potential I should, and I'm paying for this.
How do I get a new hub 5 which includes a 2.5Gbps WAN port so I can get the full speed.

You might wish to read this ongoing tale of woe with the Hub 5 and its broken 2.5Gb/s port.

maybe i should make my own using opnsense

OPNsense is in another league compared to any router VM could possibly send you. Some argue that VM branded routers are quite possibly the worst peices of networking equipment ever produced.
It's worth sticking the Hub in modem mode and using any other router on the market even if you're still limited to 1Gb.

You can get the 1130 Mbps if two Ethernet ports are drawing that load.

But does not help if your in modem mode😞
I bet VM will say that hub 4 fine for 2Gb over 3 devices... when will the madness end

VM have never stated that the speed provided is only for one device, it’s for multiple simultaneous devices although this is also not stated anywhere. The speeds quoted by VM are for your broadband connection to the VM hub not really to any devices at all.

You sound like a broken record.
So if you had 1Gb with a hub 4 would you be happy?

I have a hub4 in modem mode and am very happy. Stuff the extra 130 Mbps!

Sure but how far is pushing it?
