I spoke to a technical man at Virgin Media. Because I need to use my home security camera when visiting another country. And 2.4 has a longer range than 5. And because my security camera simply says it doesn't work off 5 GhZ. He advised that I convert my 5 GhZ router to 2.4 this way.
Is this correct?
a) press the Reset button on the bottom of my 5 GhZ router
b) after a short wait, it asks for my Password
c) then it asks if I want 2.4 Ghz or 5 GhZ. I press the 2.4 Ghz option
He says that I go to Settings then to Network and Internet. On my Browser. I "imagine" this is where I am asked whether I want 2.4 or 5. Where a message comes up to that effect.
Is this accurate?

You need to enter the Hub's password; previously highlighted here, Solved: Re: Converting 5 GwH to 2.4 Gwh on Virgin Media ro... - Page 3 - Virgin Media Community - 55...

That's exactly what I did. I used the new password I created. In the place that you highlighted before. Where it says "Password" under Hub Settings.

Please forgive me - I cannot resist: This needs Geordi to fix the problem. NG fans will recall the famous episode!

I'm just following what I was told to do. I reset the password as instructed. It worked the first time (on the day i reset the password). Yesterday, I tried logging in three times. Exactly in the same place. And it didn't work. Not rocket science..🤔

For the present, after resetting the Hub and sign in and select Skip when prompted to enter a new password,
Then proceed with previous instructions here, Solved: Re: Converting 5 GwH to 2.4 Gwh on Virgin Media ro... - Page 3 - Virgin Media Community - 55...; skip the first step as you are already signed in.

Will do a bit later. To run past you. I spoke to Virgin Media about this situation before coming on here. The man there (phone 0345 4541 111) advised me to:
a) stick a pencil in the hole at the bottom of the router to reset it
b) wait
c) it will ask for my present password
Then his explanation got fuzzy. At first he said that it asks if I want to go from 5 GhZ to 2.4 Ghz. He later said something about my going to Settings and then Network and Internet. And that some sort of message will come up on there.
Where this message is supposed to appear, he didn't say.

Point c is incorrect. If you do a full pinhole reset, the password will revert to the one printed on the bottom of the Hub, it is not "your present password" .....
