On Friday night a drunk driver crashed into a green cabinet causing a complete lack of service to a decent amount of the small town where I live. The box is about half mile away from my house. The dates for fixing it keep changing and no one on the WhatsApp chat can tell me a definite time or day it will be fixed.
I’ve seen people on Facebook saying that they have called and been switched to use a different hub or something but I can’t get through the automated system and the person on WhatsApp just keeps telling the date and time it says online (for now… it will likely change again!)
I work from home and also rely on Wi-Fi for my phone (using Wi-Fi calling as I have no service with o2 in my house) and i am expecting a call from my doctor tomorrow that I will most likely miss.
Can anyone tell me who I need to speak to to have my internet moved to a different hub or a realistic timescale to have the damaged one fixed?

You cannot be moved to a different connection (hub?), VM do not have a redundant infrastructure. The timescales are always best effort and can change due to various factors, you will never ever get an exact date/time. VM may well have to install new amps and configure them, not a quick task. Don’t forget you have a residential service with no SLAs.

If it can’t be done then how have they done it for the people on Facebook who are claiming it has been done?
the issue with the date and time is they change every few hours adding a few hours on and no one is actually there working on it… they should just be transparent. They know what is there now, know what they need and should know how long it will take. It’s not difficult imo.

Folks on Facebook have not realised mobile phones switch from Wi-Fi to 4G/5G mobile data.
Enable a hot spot from your mobile if you are desperate for a Wi-Fi connection to WFH.

Their televisions were back working…
and I would but I’m with o2 and have patchy 3G at best (as per original post I rely on wifi to use my phone at home!)

These folks with TV and Internet are served from an undamaged street cabinet.
