Cannot connect to hub4 - WIFI still works though

Tuning in

Hi there,

I have exactly same issue as Grumps reported over here:

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Hub4-amp-Connect-app/m-p/5490761

I have a hub4. I cannot connect to it via IP. Well, thats not quite true. I can connect, I get forced to change password, when I attempt to log back in using new password, sometimes, very rarely, I get in initially, but on later attempts, it doesn't work.

I have done the 15 second reset, and the 60 second reset. I have left the thing turned off all day. I have restarted. I have reset factory defaults. I cannot consistently connect to the hub.

I have had success in the past with the Connect app, but not at the moment. Same issues as reported by other users. The app reports "Cannot find your hub". Attempt to set it up in the app, and you just go around in circles.

Througoht all this malarkey...I have no issues with the WIFI.

Any ideas what I should try next?

Rob

We're sorry to hear you've been having an issue connecting to the Hub GUI system via the 192.168.0.1 IP address.

We will need to take a closer look at this for you but in order to do that I will need to confirm some information with you to pass security. I have sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. Hi Kath,

Technician came yesterday. Swapped out the Hub4 for Hub5 and now everything works!

Thanks a lot for prompt response and resolution.
