updated email not being verified

Hi all
I have been trying to generate a new app password.
So far I have done the following

1) I have changed my email address in my account settings

2) Received the verify email address email from VM

3) clicked on the link and been redirected back to VM

4) attempted to Login - Used new email address and original password only to be met with the following message

 You haven't confirmed this email address yet. Please check your inbox for a message called 'Verify your My Virgin Media email' and click the link in the email.

But I have and I want to log in... Any ideas as to how to proceed
