Anyone help please, my contract is soon to expire, but would like the same package i have to continue, but when i went on chat the person tried to sell me all sorts of so called good (expencive deals) including sim cards i do not need, then came up with sky high prices for same package i have already even though the web site came in loads cheaper. ok they say it is for new customers the web prices, surly i will be a new customer as my contract is ending and it will be a new contract, so yes it s new. all i want is to speak to someone live is there a number i can contact?

A contract ending is not the same as a "new" customer, it just starts a rolling contract as far as I know, until you actually leave VM.

To be a new customer, you need to have left for 90 days I believe.

Hi russ0113

The headline prices on the main site are for customers new to VM.  You will have received a new customer pricing when you first joined and are now coming to the end of your currently discounted contract.

Do your homework first and price up similar deals with other providers. Also determine what you actually need from VM.  Do you need the current level of speed?  Also look at if  you need a new sim. VM now have the Volt packages which  double your data and broadband speed, so it might be worthwhile taking out a lower broadband speed on a Volt bundle which would double your broadband speed .

When you decide to renegotiate/cancel the best method and time to contact them is to call  150 from a Virgin landline  or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone, but best to call at 8am when lines first open to avoid call queues.

Choose option 4 retentions (thinking of leaving us) They are generally based in the UK, and have a greater degree of knowledge and flexibility, along with a larger range of discounts than the front line agents. Hopefully you can negotiate a deal with them that's suitable to your pocket and needs in exchange for a new contract.

You can also try logging into https://www.virginmedia.com/my-virgin-media  and click on upgrade package. There may be an offer there, and also possibly a link to the online chat messenger service.

You can also text VM on 0753 305 1809 or speak to the team on WhatsApp on 0730 532 7112 but phone calls take priority and these methods can take 4 to 6 hours, probably longer.
