What is with Virging pricing!?!

J3anChr1s
Tuning in

I have been paying £31 per month.

Had an email telling me this is rising to £47

Same email tells me a new customer would get my package for £26!!

New customers are valued more than existing....

Can choose a new package online / in app, but cannot give notice to cancel, made more difficult to leave, also not really on.

New customers are valued more than existing....that's why on 9 September 2024 i am leaving virgin media, they could not price match Vodafone 900 mb for £31 a month

You have to call them for this, i found it to be easy, depends who you get on the phone.

Hi there @J3anChr1s

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your current deal, the jump in price may be due to your contract ending and with it the previously agreed discounts that were included. You can reach out to discuss a new package with us or cancel if you prefer by calling on 0345 454 1111, using WhatsApp messenger on 07305 327 112, or via a DM on our Facebook, X and Instagram social media accounts. We're happy to discuss either of these options via these methods, though we do not typically change packages or arrange cancellation via the forums.

New customer offers are a common Business practice that allow new customers to try our services at a discounted rate as an introduction to us and to see if we're a good fit for future services. Though we cannot apply new customer offer to an existing account we will always do all we can to find a new and suitable deal for you as an existing customer to suit both your needs and budget.

Hi,

Happy enough with current deal, annoyed at having to go through the hassle of chasing virgin to apply further discounts, it should just be the price.

Relying on people just letting it roll over and hiking prices in excess of 50% is rediculous.

That's normal for virgin media

Only way to get a better price is tell them you are leaving

It's very profitable for them, well it would be if they hadn't lost 13,000 customers in the last quarter....

Hi J3anChr1s 👋 Thanks for getting back to us.

We appreciate you taking the time to raise your feedback. When taking out a contract with us this is for a fixed term agreed price where there are discounts applied. You can keep an eye on when your contract is coming to an end via the emails that we send out, or via your my VM account. 👉 virg.in/myVM (You can also look at available deals here, and renew your contract!)

If you want to downgrade your service, remove a service or cancel, this can take up to 30 days to process - and it's best if we speak to you directly to offer further support with this. You can get in touch via any of our real-time, direct contact methods for us to offer support with this. Sadly we don't offer this support via this platform, as we need to help in real time (due to the contract documents generated.) Our real time direct contact methods are listed further into this thread, but here they are again in case you need them.;

Social Media; (Facebook, Instagram & Twitter)💻Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/virginmedia 🐤Twitter / X : https://twitter.com/virginmedia
📞Call: 150 (free of charge) from a Virgin Media landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone
📲WhatsApp:  07803089684

We hope we are able to help find a deal that suits you. Let us know if there's anything further you need our support with. Wishing you all the best! 🌞
