Unwanted contract

Sunshiny

So I was trying to sort an email issue via Virginmedia WhatsApp and whilst I was on the Virginmedia webpage looking at my account I thought I'd check when my contract expired in October. Didn't find that but did I click on something else?? Because I've just got an email with "pre-contract documents" contract information and contract summary. What is going on, I didn't request this, why would I as it's basically just putting the price up two months early?

This has been getting regular mentions on here. Seems like a fairly outrageous attempt by VM to confuse the customer into a new minimum term

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Managing-Your-Account-Cable/Pre-contract-emails/m-p/5325679

I am sure I have read a more recent topic similar to the above but can't find it just now.

One of the VM forum team should reply within a few days to confirm the above.

Edit: A more recent link repeats the above

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Managing-Your-Account-Cable/Pre-contract/m-p/5536649

but to avoid any VM 'confusion' let the VM forum team confirm it for you.

Hey sunshiny, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear this.

Did you make any changes at all?

Did anything seem new or have been changed at all on the account?

Please remember discounts are only time limited.

I didn't make any changes to my contract, if that's what you mean. I was just stumbling around the website trying to sort my email issue and thought I'd try and find out exactly when my contract ends in October. The pre contracts on the email I've just opened to read.

I think I might have clicked on change or upgrade your package but just reversed out.

Thanks for the reply @Sunshiny 👋🏼

Have you done a house move in the last 18 months?
This may have initiated a new contract (we can amend this if so).

Let us know.

Kind regards,
Ilyas.
