when I click on manage direct debit online or from the SMS link it flashes up API Error then takes me to the Oops something went wrong page. It doesn't matter which computer or phone or browser I use, the problem is on the server. I phoned up to complain about this 2 weeks ago but it still hasn't been fixed. Is there any way of getting this sorted out ?

I still get the Ooops something went wrong, it doesn't appear to be fixable. I had to phone up and get it changed manually, Even by phone it can be tricky as if it is too close to the existing direct debit date you can't change it.
Of course I understand the existing d/d date would still need to be processed if it is close, but they can't even change the future date for the next one !
