Hello,
What can I do about receiving a request to return equipment after we had recycled it? We cancelled with Virgin Media on 17th November (in the end I had to write a letter after spending **hours** hold). Our last bill was on 7th December and paid on 2nd January. After that I cancelled the direct debit. Later that week we went to the local authority waste recycling centre and put the Virgin equipment into electrical recycling.
Only today my hubby told me that he's getting text messages about returning the router, which he thought was spam. (We've been getting a lot of spam calls and messages about our utility bills lately). Anyway, I checked back and found an email from 7th Jan saying "We’re just checking in to make sure that you’ve received your prepaid returns packaging in the post." We hadn't receive any packaging in the post, and neither had we received any request to return anything, and by 7th we'd already recycled it anyway.
The router itself was 6 years old. I got an email this morning saying, VM are going to apply a "£40.00 charge to your account".
I've tried calling, but I can't get through because our landline number isn't active anymore. I've tried Whatsapp chat, which sends me to Web Chat, which sends me back to Whatsapp chat. There's no telephone number or email address, so I'm stuck.
I want to explain what's happened, and hopefully someone with some common sense, will able to see that we waited till we were out of contract before recycling the equipment, so we weant to dispute this extraordinary "charge" (overvalued) for the router.

HI sorry to hear u not getting throught to vm it can be hard at times one of the staff will reply in next few days.
if want it sorted sooner all i can say is try call vm when they open it has been said before by others on here.
