I have also had the exact same problem. They are beyond a joke. Never experienced such poor customer service by any company, ever. I too had to resort to cancelling the DD - funny how that one only took them a few weeks to notice and send an email about. This form seems the only way people have ever had some sort of response from customer services so hoping (but not holding my breath!) that a human being will see this an actually get back in touch for once.

That cancelling your regular payment provoked a reminder is of no surprise - VM's payment processing is notoriously efficient and an FAQ on this forum.

I would advise against cancelling the direct debit, VM will raise a marker against your credit file which could cause you a load of grief with future credit applications.

Just leave them I am considering leaving them right now
