Notice to cancel but billed?

Hi my 18 month minimum term was due to expire 02/09/2024. I contacted virgin via webchat on 23/7/2024 to give notice to cancel at then end of the minimum term (02/09/2024), they coudnt give me a deal that I was happy with, so I gave request to cancel.

The webchat rep said an amount will be taken on 23/09/2024 which it has, then another amount on 23/09/2024 (pending). "Then it will be refunded 45 days after disconnection" ...

I had a email from virgin on 23/7/204 saying 'Sorry to hear your leaving us'.  I had my landline ported around 15/08/2024 to sky, then i recieved an email from Virgin saying 'Thankyou for making changes' With a 2 month contract added without a landline.  I just need someone to reconfirm that it is being canceled. And that I wont be charged for extra months, It should be 18 seperate payments paid in total (paid in advanced) So I shoudnt be paying for september to October etc.  I have the chat transcript available if needed. Thank-you.
