I need to update my phone number

I recently became a virgin media broadband customer, when creating the account i have used my current phone number. For some reason you guys decided to ignore that and use the phone number that i have used 5 years ago when I used your mobile service. Due to this I have missed installation appointments and your website where you give the ability to edit the phone number, does not work and will not accept the change.
Can you update the phone number on my account to the correct one that has been specified when signing up and not some old number.

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

We're sorry to hear the phone number wasn't correctly entered when we set up the account. We wouldn't use anything relating to a previous account so we're unsure how that would have happened. Did you potentially use any autofill when filling out the information? 

We can get the number checked and updated this end though but in order to do that I will need to confirm some information with you to pass security. I have sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. If you are using a PC/Laptop then you can just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. If you are on a mobile/tablet device then instead click on the little circle icon in the top right then select 'Messages'. 😊
