How much are you paying for broadband only? Am I paying too much? UK

Hey guys, I'm currently with virgin media. I'm coming to the end of my contract currently paying £44.80 for the M500 Fibre. I'm being offered an upgrader for the Gig1 Fibre for £52.00 Is this a good deal? How much are you guys paying for 1gig or 500 as an existing customer? I feel £52 is quite expensive for broadband only and unfortunately they won't give me a lower cost as I'm an existing cusomer.

What difference, if any, would the upgrade make in your life? Would you notice any difference if you downgraded?

If you have anyone in the property with an O2 mobile contract you can get the upgrade free via Volt.

My online upgrades are £5 per tier so yours does look expensive to me. Also I have no special Black Friday deals online (I'm not bitter at all) but you might. 

Also remember the circa 10% price hike from April.
