Hello to everyone.
Any tips or tricks on how to cancel Virgin Media ?
After being with them since they started as Southwestern Bell, I
have finally decided that I am tired of struggling with rising prices and
reduced customer service.
I understand it can be a difficult process to leave, so any help would be appreciated.
Take care and many thanks,

Hello everyone.
To update everyone on the progress (or lack of) I have made.
I am still waiting for the extra money to be returned.
The last date I was given is still over three weeks away.
At that point Virgin Media will have had the overcharged money in their account for six weeks.
I have reported this to Ofcom but they "do not deal with individual cases".
If anybody has any experience of going completely through this process, perhaps they could let us all know if they finally settled with VM.
Any help and suggestions would be welcome.

VM's own timescales say you should be refunded within 45 days of your disconnection date

If your disconnection was 16/5/24 that takes it up to 30/6/24 for VM to refund you
Have you received a final bill yet from VM?
Hopefully you have submitted your experience to the OFCOM investigation into VM cancellations

there is an email address and case ref no. at the bottom of the page above

My service terminated on 23/06/2024 and my refund isn't due until 07/08/2024.
They got 30 days notice to terminate and they took money for a service they cannot deliver.
There are no pending charges to warrant holding money and their equipment has already been returned to them.
(Confirmed by Yodel tracking)
This is a Rip-Off and Virgin Media knows it's a Rip-Off.
They can dance around the wording on their website all they like.
People thinking about signing up with Virgin should know their money will be
held after they leave for around 45 days after disconnection.
Also why are refunds sent by cheque.
What's wrong with returning money to the original funding source.
I thought money laundering rules required this.
I'll be pleased to see the back of Virgin Media.
Best of luck to others.
