Contract ended, can't get to speak to someone sensible to discuss new contract

Tuning in

My contract has now expired so I called to discuss renewal options before cancelling. After waiting for the offshore operator to find out what offers they had for me, I was transferred to a UK operator, but he couldn't hear me and then the line went dead......!

I rather expected that he'd have my mobile number from my account and call me back, but nothing!
How can I get to talk to someone in the UK to find out it VM want my business again? I have tried getting renewal options sent to me by text, but the link goes to a 'we can't help you with this - chat now'.  But guess what, the WhatsApp chat option doesn't work either!!!!!!

This is ridiculous - either VM want to keep customers or they are happy to see them head off.....

Can anyone give me some way to speak to a UK person ASAP?

TIA

What offers show on your online account?

---------------
Cancel VM here
Complain to VM
here
Demand compensation from VM here
Demand your call recordings here
Monitor the state of your VM connection here

None - I simply get this page (www.virginmedia.com/support/help/change-my-package/error) when I click 'Explore your renewal deal' or click the link in the text sent to me having called 0345 454 1111.

Your contract hasn't expired (you'd not have services if it had), but your minimum term has.

VM have made a business decision to use offshore call centres, and if there was a magic wand to avoid them - everyone would use it! Calling early doors 8am used to be a good method to get UK-agents, but I'm not sure how reliable it is these days.

try ringing after 8am, its not guaranteed. Ask the agent you want to speak to cancellations as may be 1st line that answers. 0345 454 1111 option 4 (Leaving Virgin). You'll need to be quite firm about whether you feel you get value from current services and that you wish to give 30 days. Hopefully, they will look at options and come up with better suited package/price. Think about anything you need or don't need and whether the speed is actually required. If you just browse web pages and download updates for Windows/Linux/Mac and done have kids downloading huge games then M125 is more than good enough. If you do a lot of cloud uploading to onedrive, have a server going, then you may need the increased upload bandwidth of GIG1. It helps to know what competitors will charge you in your area, and sites like uswitch or moneysavingexpert may help, along with looking at new customer offers for cashback on sites like topcashback.co.uk or quidco.com as they can often have special pricing as well as the sometimes significant, cashback.
