I have logged onto both the app and web browser to try and change my direct debit details but on both I am told this is not possible and I'm not given a reason why. I really need to change my details before my first bill is debited. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

I expect with VMs antiquated billing system you will have to cancel the existing Direct Debit and set up a new one. If you move current accounts with most providers they will automatically move the Direct Debits, but this may not be you case. Only a VM staff member can give you a definitive answer, could take 2 or 3 days for them to get to your post.
