April 2024 Price Hikes

Tuning in

Hi folks

I recently received an email from Virgin informing me of a price hike in April 2024, no doubt it will be an obscene increase.

I need to discuss a: what the new cost will be and b: how to go about cancelling my Virgin contract (it'll be the end of the contract).

Unfortunately (ho ho ho) no one is responding on WhatsApp, I can't get through to anyone on my mobile phone and the ChatBot on the Virgin site keeps telling me to click on 'sign in' even though I'm already signed in. Then when I click 'sign in' it tells me to click on 'sign in' and sign in again. Then when I click 'sign in' it tells me to click on 'sign in' and sign in again. Then when I click 'sign in' it tells me to click on 'sign in' and sign in again. Then when I click 'sign in' it tells me to click on 'sign in' and... you get the picture.

How do I proceed from here?

Before cancelling call (choose "Thinking of leaving") and see what can be offered.

Hi hammersmith69,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums.

We're sorry to hear you've been having difficulty contacting the team over the last few days. As mentioned in RedWine345's reply to you, we won't be able to give you an increase amount just yet as it will depend on the RPI which will be announced in February. 3.9% will be added to that figure and that will be your overall increase.

We're always happy to review your package and cost to help find one that best suits your needs and budget - this doesn't always mean a downgrade! If you want to chat with us, please feel free to call on 150 / 03454541111 or pop us a WhatsApp on 07305327112. Replies aren't instant via WhatsApp and can take a few hours but it allows you to get on with your day whilst waiting for a reply.

If you would prefer to just set the wheels in motion to cancel then you can do this up to 60 days before your contract is due to end. There are 3 ways you can do this:

  • 1️⃣ You can speak to the team on 0345 454 1111 and selecting options 1, 4 then 4 again. The teams are experiencing high calls but are working as quick as they can to reach you.
  • 2️⃣ You can WhatsApp the team on 07305327112. As mentioned above, replies aren't instant and can take a few hours however it does allow you to go about your day whilst waiting for a reply.
  • 3️⃣ You can write a letter stating that you wish to cancel your services. You will need to include a few details including Your account number, name and full address and contact details for you as well as the date you wish to for your services to end. Send this to Virgin Media, Sunderland, SR43 4AA.

The team will be able to process your 30 day notice from any of these 3 routes.

Let us know how you get on. 🙂

Thanks for your reply. My minimum term is up in April. I'm anticipating difficulty getting through to VM and starting to plan early! Cheers!

Thank you, I'll try these methods shortly.

CAll them 30 days before the end of your contract, sat and sunday mornings are the quietest times to call
