Transfer Vodafone Landline number

Hi

I want to port my vodafone landline number onto my virgin broadband and cancel my Vodafone broadband service.  I needed to have an overlap so it wasn't asked for when I got by Virgin line installed. What's the easiest way to sort this out?

    We moved our telephone from BT to a VOIP provider when taking internet from Virgin Media.
    This was to ensure would not loose control of the telephone number by allowing it to become part of a VM bundle.
