Hello all,
we have a Virgin phone line which until recently, was ok. Now, although able to receive and make calls, neither handset rings, so calls get missed. We have checked all settings, and volume for base and handset are turned up to max. We have also put a brand new handset set of two, and checked all settings in the same way. Same problem, which leads me to think there may be an issue with either the line, or the socket itself? Can you assist please, or point us in the right direction?
any help you can; offer would be most appreciated.
many thanks and kind regards

Many thanks for arranging the engineer who called yesterday. He was there for some time both in the house and the box outside. He advised that he would need to put in a new box on the wall, which is fine, but couldn’t get a signal from the cabinet outside, and this would need your third party contractors, to come and dig the road up to correct a cable fault? He also said this may be a while owing to Christmas etc, and until then, there would be no home phone available.
My father in law is nearly 90 and very vulnerable as I mentioned before, and while he does have a mobile to use, he doesn’t really understand it very well, despite our efforts to teach him with notes/pictures etc. My question is could we try and contact the people responsible for the repairs and see if it can be prioritised so we can get his home phone working again with the minimum of delay? If there is any chance before Christmas that would be good, or in between if not… Anything that can be done to accelerate it and get the phone working again would be very much appreciated, as he is lost and vulnerable without it.
Thanks again for your efforts and kind regards,
Festwit
