My fibre line has been cut and i have been without Internet for 4 weeks now and the idiots at customer service keep sending out a home engineer, when it needs outside one and they keep telling me that one has been booked, i want to chase this up myself, thats why i want to know,

Don't forget to keep records of all contacts with VM, in particular the date you first reported the fault. You'll need this to be sure you get the correct amount of compensation.
